The Ultimate Climbing Rope Dog Leash is designed with the lightest load rated Swivel, CE rated Carabiner and Climbing Rope.
For the large strong dogs that pull and require the increased strength and safety of a carabiner leash with the ability to swivel; the ultimate climbing rope dog leash is an excellent choice.
Our four foot Ultimate Dog Leash weighs approximately 9oz in total weight. The high strength swivels are CNC machined aluminum alloy with stainless steel axles and sealed bearings. These have a certified breaking strength of 23kN (5,175 lbf). The swivels weigh approximately 2.0 oz, and 2.7 inches or 69mm in length. The small 12mm eye has a rubber O ring to help grip the carabiner.
Nano swivels are manufactured in small quantities in the USA. These are the lightest and smallest load rated swivels available. The majority of the cost of this leash is in the swivel itself.
The swivel is designed primarily for professional climbers and emergency rescue teams. They require the hardware they use to meet, or exceed rigorous strength & safety standards. The main stream pet industry has no such standards. The light weight, and small size of the swivel is perfect for use in this style of dog leash.
This is a custom dog leash built with the best parts and hardware; It will last for many years of safe and reliable use.
The 3.5 inch compact locking carbiner is of similar quality and strength as the swivel. Carabiners are manufactured from hot forged aluminum. The finished product is CE certified with a breaking strength of 24kN (5,395 lbf) and a weight of 1.53 oz.
The gate opening of the carabiner has what is called a key lock design. This helps eliminate the carabiner from getting snagged on a dogs collar or harness when removing the leash.
The ends of the leash are permanently secured with a one piece industrial aluminium sleeve original to our dog leash design. A black shrink wrap is added for a finished look.
A 1 inch welded stainless steel ring in the handle has a 800lb strength rating and can be used for a variety of things. Its main use is to clip the handle into the carabiner as a temporary way to shorten the leash for more control. Most just attach a mini LED light or a poop bag.
The Ultimate Climbing Rope Dog Leash is handmade in USA specifically for each customer, these are not a stocked item.

I love Josh's leashes, they are strong and secure. My 85 lb Weimaraner has put it to the test! No more worries of broken clasps.
For those who have pullers, get yourself a ski-joring belt and another carabiner to go hands free. Let your hips take the strain.
I bought this leash last summer and I’m just now getting around to the review. I have a Tibetan Mastiff, and while she’s smaller (100 pounds), she’s an incredibly strong dog with a mind of her own. She’s an uber-guardian who also loves a good rabbit chase. I bought this leash in 6 foot with a traffic loop and I can walk her with more confidence and security than I’ve ever had. The leash combines strength with functionality—it’s comfortable but doesn’t feel too heavy on my arm. Fair warning—I received my leash a month after I ordered it, but I’m not complaining. Pick the leash, spend the money, and enjoy the peace of mind it will give you with your dog. I’m truly grateful for this leash, and I’m spreading the word.
Be proud of your leashes, ‘‘it’s unbelievably ,10 stars American craftsmanship is alive!
My Pit / Rottweiler mix absolutely loves people. When she sees somebody she knows, she pulls very hard because she want’s to go visit them. She has broken a few leashes doing this. I live in an area with a good amount of traffic. When she has gotten loose, she doesn’t go far but she runs across streets with on coming cars. It’s terrifying. I bought the ultimate leash. It’s worth every penny to keep her safe. There is no way I will ever buy a lower quality leash and put her in a situation where she might not come back home. Right now, by dog is home safe taking a nap because she has not been loose and in harms way since this leash was delivered. I have had this leash for 1 year and I have been very happy with it. It’s great when you buy something with high expectations and when it arrives, it exceeds those expectations. I work in a large factory. One of my primary responsibilities is safety. There are several ways to address safety problems. The most effective method is when you can engineer a solution that eliminates the problem. The ultimate leash is an engineered solution to keep my dog safe. Broken leashes are no longer a problem. Also, besides keeping my dog safe, these leashes look cool!
The ultimate leash is the only leash I have found that I actually trust while walking my Siberian Husky. I've tried other high end leashes but nothing comes close to the Ultimate Climbing Rope Dog leash.
Going on 20+ years of experience with husky's and in my opinion it's 'when" not "if" the other leashes will fail. The Ultimate Climbing Rope Dog leash is the best of the best.
Having experience with both failed leashes and Husky's, I know your opinion is based on fact, as do most of my customers.
Thank you for taking time to leave a review. Your business is greatly appreciated!
We discovered this leash three years ago when we adopted our first retired racing greyhound, Biscuit. She got spooked by a runner and in the process of trying to soothe her, my hand dragged across the leash's snap hook and it opened. (She didn't escape, but it was too close for comfort!) I called my husband in tears, he did some research and finally sent me a link to the Ultimate Climbing Rope Leash with nano-swivel and locking carabiner.
This leash has performed flawlessly for three years of daily use, and I've since purchased one for each dog we've adopted! We ordered one for Buster, our male greyhound, before he even came home so I could be sure he'd have it from day one -- and now our little Italian Greyhound has one too, although for him we opted for the snap hook. I am so glad to have found these leashes, and I know we'll be using them for many years to come.
Stephanie You're Amazing! Thanks for the kind words but more importantly your desire to adopt, and help retired racing greyhounds, these dogs need people like yourself. Biscuit and Buster are the most perfect names I've heard in a while, and certainly they are perfect dogs!
Thanks so much!
Had scoured UK for a 25ft minimum length leash that would allow our deaf American bulldog x a degree of flexibility to explore when out for walks - couldn't get the length and all leashes appeared to be mass produced. Although using a horse lunging lead provided some necessary freedom, it was forever getting tangled up. Contacted Josh who provided a 25ft Ultimate leash with locking swivel carabiner. Best thing ever. My husband and Bella are delighted - strong and light - no tangled mass - walking now more pleasurable. Fantastic product that is being well used without any mishaps/fears. I'm hoping I will not require another leash but if I do I will purchase again from Josh.
We're glad to know that both the husband and Bella are delighted with the custom dog leash, that's high marks in our book. It's great to hear that Bella has room to explore and still safe on her new leash. Thanks so much Janie, we really appreciate your business and your review!
I have two of their 4 ft standard leashes which are great. I had been eyeing the “ultimate dog leash” w/ Nanoswivel for some time but persistently balked at the price. I finally made the decision to buy two of them and I couldn’t be happier. I bought the 10 ft version for backpacking/hiking. They function flawlessly! You can use them for hands free use by attaching another carabiner and wrapping around uour chest, which makes hiking with dogs on a leash (where required) less of a chore. If you want the best leash on the market, go ahead and splurge. It is a lifetime (dog lifetime) investment hat you will not regret. I know I will be issuing one of these to each dog I own from now on.
I bought two ultimate 2 handled leashes, 6ft and 8ft, and I'm very happy with them. Best leash I've seen on the market, and I've seen a lot. I love the locking carbineer too. I've had 3 or 4 different types of clasps and my Siberian husky has managed to unhook them all while he is on the leash and we are playing, the leash gets tangled in the clasp and opens it up. But not this carbineer, impossible to accidently open. The leash is VERY well built, looks really cool, and I won't be using anything else, and worth every cent to me. Thanks Josh and team!
Thanks Jack for taking time to share your opinion, it is greatly appreciated. I hope you and your dogs make good use of the custom dog leashes.
Thanks so much!
"A chain is only as strong as its' weakest link" as the saying goes. Nowhere is this more true than a dog leash. I don't need a heart attack over a crummy leash breaking as has happened before. I bought two of your Ultimate leashes knowing there would be a wait, and I'm glad we did. We really love our Japanese Akita. He's an important family member, and also a therapy dog in my Clinic. Our family is grateful that Josh cares as much about extreme quality, and the safety of our pet-- as much as we love our Thor! Respectfully, Dr. Mark
